The Black Hills are growing fast. And when someone you love needs immediate medical attention, convenience matters. To meet these two converging needs, Monument Health built two new Urgent Care locations to serve Rapid City and the surrounding areas, in addition to the two existing urgent cares already providing speedy treatment for scrapes, cuts, bruises, broken bones and an assortment of everyday illnesses.
Box Elder Urgent Care brings much-needed access to the eastern portion of the Interstate 90 corridor just outside of Rapid City and Rapid Valley Urgent Care brings the same services to the southeastern part of the city, which includes Rapid City Regional Airport.

Opening their doors in the summer of 2025, the identical facilities are equipped with five urgent care exam rooms, six Family Medicine exam rooms, a procedure room and also feature X-ray and laboratory capabilities.
In addition, Rapid City’s Urgent Care locations on Lacrosse Street and Jackson Boulevard, continue to provide services to the east and the west sides of Rapid, respectively.
Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers at Urgent Care are available seven days a week. Hours vary by location.
