Whether it’s for a morning cup of coffee or a late-night conversation over appetizers, people instinctively gravitate toward the kitchen island. “It’s the heart of the home,” said Julie Bennett, who owns Premier Surfaces alongside her husband, Levi. “We want to bring that joy for people — when they walk into their kitchen every morning, we want that to be a bright spot in their day.”
Founded in 2016, Premier Surfaces is a true local success story. Levi began as the company’s first templator, and in 2022, the couple took the leap into ownership. For the Bennetts — both Black Hills natives — the business is about building a legacy of quality.
The couple recently celebrated a major milestone: the opening of their new Rapid City showroom. To further their partnership with Cambria, this showroom is a Cambria Gallery – the first of its kind in the Black Hills area. The space features 23 full-size Cambria quartz slabs as well as several unique design applications. “It’s hard to see the movement and veining in a small sample,” Julie explained. “Being able to see the entire slab allows you to touch, feel and truly visualize your dream kitchen; connecting with it even before it’s installed.”
The Premier experience is fueled by an expert team with many years of combined experience. From AnicaRae and Leah Joy (LJ), who provide a welcoming, budget-conscious sales experience, to Braeden, the precision templator, to Shaun, the master fabricator, and finally to Sean, the Install Manager, and his expert team of installers, Premier Surfaces treats every project like a work of art.
By combining state-of-the-art technology with a personal, hands-on touch, they ensure that every project — from sprawling kitchens to custom bathroom vanities — is executed with meticulous precision and care. As local owners, Levi and Julie take pride in knowing that their work will be the backdrop for a lifetime of family memories, providing a level of service and quality that only deep rooted neighbors can offer.
