Kicks & Giggles Baby and Kids Boutique

Nine years after opening its doors in downtown Rapid City, Kicks and Giggles continues to be woven into the stories of families across the Black Hills. What began with Lisa DenHerder’s desire to bring high-quality children’s products to the area has grown into a beloved boutique known for heartfelt service, thoughtful selection and genuine connection.
This year’s portrait — captured by Legacy Photo and Design — features owner Lisa DenHerder surrounded by her four grandchildren, all snuggled together in their Christmas pajamas. Over the years, Kicks and Giggles has sold nearly 21,000 pairs of pajamas, each one a tiny piece of someone’s story — Christmas mornings, sibling photos and the sweet chaos of family life.
Giving back is a cornerstone of the Kicks and Giggles mission. Lisa donates to Feeding South Dakota in honor of her customers — a way of ensuring that as families shop for their little ones, they’re also helping other children in the region receive the nourishment they need. “Our customers are part of something bigger,” she shared. “Their support helps feed kids right here at home.”
The Kicks and Giggles team remains at the heart of the boutique’s warm and welcoming environment. With a blend of talent, compassion and shared purpose, these women have helped turn shopping into a relationship-building experience. Whether welcoming first-time parents or reconnecting with returning grandparents, the team takes pride in celebrating life’s sweetest milestones alongside the families they serve.
As Lisa reflected with gratitude on nearly a decade in business, her heart remains with the community that made it possible. “We wouldn’t be here without our customers,” she said. “It’s been such a gift to see families grow, stories unfold and friendships form.”
Lisa and her team extend a heartfelt thank-you to every
shopper who has supported Kicks and Giggles through the
years. They look forward to welcoming the new families who
will join their story in 2026, and to creating many more joyful moments in the years ahead.
