We care for people. We get to know our clients on a personal level and what their needs are. My dad, Greg Ketel, and I are financial advisors with Edward Jones in Rapid City. The Ketel name has long been known in the Rapid City area for financial advice. My grandfather was the managing partner for a major accounting firm in Rapid City.
My dad earned an advanced degree in business and accounting at the University of South Dakota. He led the operations of a local manufacturing business for many years before joining the Edward Jones team. For the last nine years, he’s been helping people reach their long term financial goals, whether it’s retirement, education, estate considerations, insurance and/or tax considerations. The thing that he’s most proud of in his career is connecting with his clients.
I took a less traditional path than my dad — I earned a degree in mining engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. I haven’t let my engineering background go to waste, though. The engineer in me wants to know the ins and outs of an investment before I recommend it. I combine that with the teams of analysts and tools available through Edward Jones, and I can find investments for my clients that match each of their unique situations.
