Stacey Denke, owner of Byrch Boutique, said the inspiration for her downtown Rapid City shop grew from a community need and a personal journey. After 20 years working in a corporate setting, Stacey reached a turning point. “I enjoyed it. I was climbing the ladder, doing my thing, but I just decided I wanted something different.”
She realized local options for professional clothing were limited. “I could never find clothing here, so I’d always have to go to Fort Collins, Denver, Sioux Falls or Minneapolis.” Byrch Boutique became the store she wished she’d had — business casual, professional and inclusive for all women.
The boutique’s name carries a deeply personal meaning for Stacey. “My dad’s name was Byron. My mom’s name was Cherry, and I combined that to make Byrch,” she shared. “It was my way of bringing them along on this trip with me.”
Curating the boutique’s collection is a mix of research, relationships and trial and error. Market trips and conversations with other boutique owners helped shape a selection of affordable, quality pieces. Recently, Byrch has added décor and artwork, offering stylish new options that bring joy and beauty into customers’ homes.
But what truly sets Byrch apart is its unwavering focus on the customer experience. “Our job is not to sell clothes. Our job is to make sure every individual has a great experience when they come in this store,” Stacey said. Miranda O’Bryan-Hertel, sales associate and social media manager, embodies this mission with warmth and genuine care every day. She’s elevated Byrch’s social media presence while making every customer feel truly seen — whether they’re hunting for the perfect interview outfit, a stunning wedding look, or simply exploring for inspiration.
With plans to expand online, Byrch Boutique is set to evolve while remaining deeply rooted in connection, confidence and style.
