Angel’s Catering, founded by Angel Adams in 1996, has long been a cherished name in the Black Hills. Since Angel’s passing in 2022, his wife Amanda has kept the business thriving, not only honoring his culinary legacy but also expanding it in exciting ways.
Amanda joined Angel in building the business starting in 2001, with Angel’s charisma and culinary expertise a key part of this catering company’s success. “Angel was the face of the business — he was the salesman, the one who made the connections,” Amanda recalled. After Angel’s illness in 2018, Amanda took on that leadership. “I’m just trying to continue his legacy,” she said, working closely with her family, who make up most of her team.
Angel’s Catering is known for its variety of mouthwatering dishes, from smoky barbeque to savory Italian and authentic Mexican. Amanda’s passion for food shines through in every event. A standout is Angel’s famous green chili, made with Hatch chilies from New Mexico. “It’s something you can’t find anywhere else,” Amanda said.
While the core of Angel’s Catering remains its exceptional food, Amanda has worked to elevate the business even further. The couple purchased the Stagestop Receptions building and transformed it into a phenomenal event space. “It turned out beautifully,” Amanda noted, a testament to the hard work she and her family put into the renovation.
Recognized for their dedication and excellence, Angel’s Catering has won Best of the Black Hills every year since 2018. “Our tagline is ‘food so heavenly, it could only be Angel’s,’” Amanda reflected, “and now, it means more than ever.” Through love, hard work and a commitment to great food, the legacy of Angel Adams lives on.
