Quilt Connection, Etc.

Quilting transforms simple pieces of fabric into expressions of creativity, history and community. At Quilt Connection, Etc., that spirit is woven into every thread and bolt of fabric
they sell — and every conversation they foster. Anne Meisner, the owner, took a class from the local Singer Sewing Machine Store at a young age and fell in love with sewing. Over the years that passion moved to quilting and she quickly saw how quilting builds bonds. “Quilters are good people,” Anne said warmly.
Located in downtown Rapid City with a sister store in Buffalo, SD, Quilt Connection, Etc. has been a local staple for nearly two decades. Anne said her team consists of people “who love quilting and want to help others put projects together.” Whether a customer knows exactly what they want or if they need help selecting fabrics, Anne and her team provide personalized guidance.
Pennee Clanton, who leads the Buffalo location, shared her creative journey. “I started quilting through challenges that let me bring my art into quilting — making wall hangings, not just bed quilts.” Pennee’s experience demonstrates how versatile quilting can be; that it’s both an artform and a way to craft useful heartfelt items. “People come in for help, and that is what we love” she said
Quilt Connection, Etc. is known for its extensive selection, over 8,500 bolts of fabrics, including batiks and staying current with trends – from wildlife themes inspired by the region to popular fandom fabrics like Harry Potter and Dungeons & Dragons.
Quilt Connection, Etc. is a full service Husqvarna-Viking, Pfaff
and Singer dealer, including on-site service, for maintenance and repair of all machine brands. “The hands on-support is something you just won’t find in the large chain stores,” Anne noted.
Beyond selling fabric and machines, Quilt Connection, Etc. nurtures a community of quilting by offering classes and participating in events like Shop Hops and the Black Hills Quilters Guild. They host a Sit and Stitch every week for quilters to come together for a day to work on projects and get help. Quilters are always willing to share their knowledge.
