At Prima School of Dancing, culture is carefully built on both excellence and love. “We really are like a little dance family,” said Christy Remington, Director and Owner. She guides the studio alongside five other passionate leaders whom she calls her Executive Team.
This team includes Shawna Robbennolt, Operations Manager. She summed the Prima family up simply: “It’s a positive, warm environment. A place where students can be themselves and work towards their goals.”
Ryan Lindberg, Assistant to the Company Director and former Prima dancer herself, echoed this sentiment. “Watching dancers grow up here is incredible,” she said.
Rachel Harris, the studio’s Curriculum Coordinator, thoughtfully curates the studio’s curriculum with this foundation in mind. “We believe in the value of having curriculum at every level,” she said. “This provides consistency and builds a strong foundation as the students progress in their dance training.”
That preparation shows up clearly in Prima’s Dance Company led by Tricia Baltzer, Prima’s Company Director. For her, success for the dancers is never just about trophies. “We’re not just trying to win,” she said. “We’re preparing our dancers for whatever comes next, whether that’s college, professional dance or their lives in general.”
This pursuit of dance excellence, is all about personal progress. Lauren Braband, the Office Manager, witnesses this dedication and care firsthand. “Seeing the dancers’ confidence grow is huge,” she said. “The community here is what makes that possible.”
For Christy and her team, the calling to create a supportive environment for their dancers is something they all treat as precious. “Sometimes our dancers might be spending more time with us than at home,” Christy said, “and that’s exactly why we don’t take this lightly. We really are helping to shape them both as dancers and, most importantly, as people.”
