“I think what makes our department successful is a sense of community. From the reception team checking our patients in, to the nurses in the clinic, the entire surgery team and our administrative support, we are all here to make a difference in our patients’ lives. We are fortunate to have the skills and training to be able to serve the needs of our patients and community in difficult times,” said David Fromm, M.D., Rapid City General Surgeon.
Monument Health Spearfish Hospital has been designated a MBSAQIP Accredited Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, a national organization. Spearfish Hospital underwent an extensive site visit by an experienced bariatric surgeon who reviewed the center’s structure, processes and clinical outcomes data to earn this accreditation.
“Our Spearfish surgeons each have a special niche to ensure our patients and communities have convenient access to high-quality care, close to home,” said Andrew VanOsdol, M.D., Spearfish General Surgeon. “This team brings experience and dedication to each of their patients.”
Wesley Badger, M.D., specializes in endocrine surgery, Nicholas Czosnyka, M.D. specializes in breast surgery and Andrew VanOsdol, M.D., leads the bariatric program and also performs reflux surgery.
